I am a Professor at the Rosen College of Hospitality Management, University of Central Florida, with over two decades of experience specializing in the intersection of human resources, technology, and social media within hospitality.
My scholarship bridges theoretical rigor and managerial relevance across hospitality human resources, digital service systems, and consumer decision behavior. Current work focuses on AI in service recovery, digital trust design, and workforce retention dynamics.
Throughout my academic career, I have focused on research that combines theoretical rigor with practical relevance, aiming to address pressing challenges faced by the hospitality industry. This dedication has been recognized through numerous awards, including the Outstanding Graduate Mentor award at Oklahoma State University and nominations for Faculty Excellence in Mentoring at UCF. I have consistently engaged in funded research, leading projects that explore employee retention, the integration of AI and social media within hospitality settings, and cybersecurity in senior living communities.
In addition to my research, I am deeply committed to education and mentorship, guiding students in their academic pursuits and professional development. My teaching philosophy centers on creating inclusive and dynamic learning environments that encourage critical thinking, experiential learning, and interdisciplinary collaboration. I take pride in supporting the next generation of hospitality leaders through classroom instruction and research collaboration.
